Resurrection Bundt Cake (with printable cake topper)

A Resurrection Bundt cake is a fun activity that you can do with your kids to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.

With a few modifications, you can turn a regular Bundt cake into an empty tomb — what a great reminder that He is Risen!

Resurrection Bundt Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1-15.25 oz. chocolate cake mix
1-3.4 oz. pkg. chocolate instant pudding
1 1/4 cup sour cream
4 eggs
1/2 cup warm water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips

DECORATION:
1 container chocolate frosting
1/4 container cream cheese icing dyed with green food coloring
1/4 cup Oreo crumbs
1 pkg. candy rocks
1 donut

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 325. Mix together cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, water, oil and vanilla in a stand mixer, hand mixer or by hand until well mixed. Add in chips and mix just until evenly dispersed.

Pour into well greased Bundt cake pan. Bake for 50-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out slightly coated but not wet.

Remove from oven and let stand in pan for 20 minutes. Invert onto plate or cake stand.

Be sure to let it cool before decorating!

Time to decorate!

Once your cake has cooled completely, cut out a quarter section of the cake.

Add a topper

Print this free He is Risen” cake topper to finish off your creation! (If you can, print it on card stock or stiffer paper so it doesn’t flop over!)

Cut off the bottom, tape it to a skewer and insert into the top of the cake.
